Tips In Making Homemade Soy Crisps

Having to follow your own recipe when it comes to the food that your family will eat is a good thing. They are more delicious than commercially bought products, after all. One of the best example of that would be the soy crisps. To make your own, you just need to prepare flour, soybean powder, butter, yeast, milk, eggs, sugar, and seasonings.

The first thing to do in making this food would be mixing yeast and milk. You need three-eights cups of the yeast and half a cup of the lukewarm milk. Mix the two ingredients together. After that, let the mix sit in for at least fifteen to twenty minutes. You will be using the mix together with the other ingredients later.

Pour half a cup of milk as well as sugar in another mixing bowl, albeit a smaller one. You will be mixing the milk and sugar with a dash of seasonings such as salt. Any seasoning of your choice will do. You will also add a half cup of soft butter as well as two eggs into the mixing bowl. Use a whisk or a large spoon to mix all the ingredients.

The base ingredient for this recipe, which is the soybeans powder, will then be prepared next. In another large bowl, you will need to mix in the soybean powder together with three cups of plain flour. You will be mixing these two ingredients with your hands so make sure they are clean and sanitized.

The mixture of milk and yeast should be added into the big bowl with the soybeans powder and flour mix. Add in the milk and sugar mixture in the smaller bowl into the large bowl. This will make a dough for you. Let the dough rise for about two hours. Put it in a covered and warm place for it to rise.

While the dough is rising, you have to prepare the other things you will be needing in the said recipe. This is, in particular, the cooking sheets. You have to prepare it so that it can be ready for when the dough is to be placed in the oven. In preparing the cooking sheets, you will just have to rub it with oil.

Once the two hours have passed, you will need to prepare your dough into its final form. You should get a rolling pin and roll the dough until it becomes flat. Once you have a flat prepared dough, you will then need to place it on the cooking sheets you rubbed with oil.

Take out another bowl. In this bowl, you will have to beat one egg. With the use of your basting brush, you will have to dip it into the egg and then brush the dough with it. This is the final step you have to take before actually baking the dough. Do not overlook this step if you want a tasty crispies.

Place the dough with the final touches of brushed egg into your oven. The oven must be on medium heat to cook your dough at just the right temperature. Fifteen minutes should be enough to cook the dough. After fifteen minutes, take it from the oven and let it cool. Once cooled, break the crispies. You can then serve it after that.
