Most people are familiar with taxi drivers. Taxi driver or cab drivers are pretty much everywhere specially in those medium and large metropolitans. Some encounter them ever once in a while and others always do.

Taxi drivers are unique breed. In some cases, like in London England, you spend years applying for the job and spending lots of money to compete for the few jobs available. However, there are also those other places like in the US where you only need to complete a few requirements to be admitted to be a taxi driver.

Just like other jobs today, taxi driving also requires effort. This job will require you to simply sit however for long hours and sometimes stay in between traffic for long durations. With all these stresses pointed out, how are you able to maintain a healthy body as taxi driver?

One of the most important considerations is to understand that driving a taxi is stressful. This job will require you to always be on the look out for possible accidents and you will need to do this for long periods of time. Of course, not all clients will be friendly to you. There are also some taxi drivers that neglect to sleep right. For this reason, understanding stress management is very important. During breaks, be sure to at least take quick walks or make a few stretches so as to loosen up your stiff joints and muscles.

Of course, the proper nutrition is also essential to keep a healthy body. Proper nutrition boosts your body's immune system which is something that a taxi driver needs in order to venture out to work even in bad weathers such as snow or rain.

Have a routine exercise. To remain seated is the main thing that taxi drivers do. Many do not know but staying seated for so long can affect the health. Muscle memory means that tension in certain muscle groups is fixed, do the long hours in that position. The regular exercise such as flexes as well as trunk twists can help you avoid these complications with your muscles and nerves.

Find some extracurricular activity that you enjoy and make sure you spend time doing that on a weekly basis. You should also enjoy a day away from work. Since this work will require you to stay in the vehicle for hours, there is a tendency that you'll always be wanting to be in a taxi. This is their bread and butter that's why they have this kind of mindset. As a taxi driver, you also need to spend time off work. It changes the perspective, and gives them a chance to move around a bit instead of setting all the time.

Finally, learn to be patient. Road problems and traffic are always present whichever city you may drive in. There are times when you're very busy, and times when you're not. Learn to be patient in this situation. Stress as well as other health concerns will then be lowered just as long as you remain calm and patient.
